I'm looking at a pair of LaCrosse AlphaBurly 1500 gram boots in Mossy Oak Treestand camo. Anyone have any opinions on this boot or maybe some suggestions on another insulated rubber boot?? Thanks.

You'll be alright with the insulation (atleast I am). I love the LaCrosee, but on my feet, they fit really snug. Don't get me wrong, I love this, but they can sometime be more of a hassle to get off then I wish. That's just something you may want to consider.

Muck Boots Woody Max are great for me. My feet don't seem to get cold like they used to and they are easy to get on and off. Wearing them here the last few warm days has been a mistake though cause my legs and feet got hot.

The LaCrosse boots are a very good brand, hard to go wrong with them. Late last yr. I bought a pair of the Muck Woody Elite's from a gentleman on this site, I got to wear them once last season and had not formed a true opinion after just one trip into the woods. I have worn them all this season so far and have to say they are probably the best all around boot I have, basing this on over 30 yrs of hunting in the Adirondack Mtns of NY, I have seen more than my far share of weather conditions, this past weekend the high for the day was a whoooooping 18 degs. I spent four hrs on my mornig watch and my feet never once felt cold. I wear a base layer sock (polypro and a light weigh sock by Black Mtn (Outlast; High Country) Note: if you don't own a pair of these socks you have no idea what you are missing, they are a little more money, but worth every cent. http://www.gean-edwards.com
I would suggest going to a store location that offers several brands and try them on with different sock combo's and see which ones fit you the best, warmth is good, comfort and warmth is much better.
Good luck

I love my Muck boots!! I have a pair of the shoe type Mucks, and they are not real great. But the boots are the best i've owned.
