I shot a deer Sunday night 2 minutes before legal dark with my ML. Well, it took a couple of seconds for the deer to take off running. This told me that I possibly knocked the deer down AND possibly made a bad shot. OK< got it! No big deal I said to myself! So I sit there after the shot and listen to where the deer went, I heard it crash! So I start down the tree and head over to the location where I shot the deer to pick up the trail. By this time it is dark and I now need a flashlight. I pick up the trail which consist of bright red blood, air bubbles, and small bone frag and start to follow. About 75yds or so is my neighbors fence that own 53 acres behind my property. Well the deer jumped the fence, so I stopped and did the right thing. I waited till the next day(Monday) to get permission from the property owner to go on his land and retrieve my deer.
While speaking with the guy the next morning, I ask him if he allows hunting on the back portion of his property, he says "NO". So I say ok and he gives me permission the retrieve my deer. As soon as I got back to my property I got dressed up in camo and scent free and started for the woods. Well I walk the guys entire 53 acres and did not find my deer!
Very unfortunate, I know. Please don't beat me up about it, I have already done enough of that to myself over it!
So anyway, yesterday I went back out to the same stand to hunt again and the guy is out in the woods on his land driving around in his truck. Thats fine he can do that, it's his property, "Got it". Upsetting but nothing I can do about it. Well he see's me in my tree because of my BLAZE ORANGE and sits there with binos and watches me for about 10 minutes. I know this because(and I know this was not a real good move) I was watching him through my scope on the ML. I think to myself, OK no big deal he knows where I am at and he knows I am not hunting on his property. That is a good thing, or so I thought!
Tonight I decided I was going to hunt the same stand again. So I go out to the stand and everything is fine. It's quiet, small breeze, nice and chilly, and just a great evening to be in the stand. Well, I didn't see anything which was fine I enjoyed just being in the stand. So, legal dark came and I started down the tree. Well on the way down the tree I felt the pin holding the cable in the tube on the right side of the top of my stand was loose. So I figured ahh no big deal the stand is 3 years old and re-clipped it and continued down the tree. I got about 10 feet off the ground and sat there facing the tree and thought well I better check the other pins just to be sure. Glad I did, because the pin on the bottom of the stand on the same side was un-clipped also!
I dunno call me crazy! I was in the stand last night and they were all clipped when I left the stand. And I find it kinda un-coincidental that BOTH of the clips on the SAME side were un-clipped tonight.
Sorry to make this so long but you have to hear the whole story to get what I am trying to say.
So what do you guys think? Am I going crazy or does it sound like someone is messin with my stand in hopes that I would get hurt and not be able to hunt back there anymore?
Opinions and ideas to render this are more than welcome and needed!

Set a large steel bear trap at the base of the tree next time you're there and cover with leaves. No- I'm kidding that would probably be a bad idea.

IF I saw you pointing a loaded rifle at me, you would have bigger problems than a clip on your stand.
Great way to get shot.
Buy some binoculars, cheap $30 pair if that is all you can afford.
Using your scope to "glass" someone is Aggravated assault, a felony that can get you several years in jail and is TOTALLY NOT SAFE.

If you ever looked at me through your scope, you would have to worry about more than your stand! That is one of the most unsafe things you could ever do.

Without harping on the obvious everybody else is, sounds like he doesn't like you hunting that close to his line, only problem is their is nothing you can do unless you catch him in the act, I would get a cheap IR camera and set it up well hidden by the stand and see if you can catch him, if you can, either approach him with it or hand it over to the cops, he can be charged with reckless endangerment and trespassing but I'm pretty sure you would never be able to look for a deer on that place again.
