Ive posted a pic of this deer before, and I'm trying to decide if he is a shooter for me. Rack wise he might be a little small. However, body wise I think he might be of high enough age (I'll shoot a really good racked 2.5 or most 120ish 3.5's) What do you think his age is? BTW we have named him "Hooks" bc of his brow tines. These are 4 pics of him. He's been a daytime shower as of late.
PS I love having pics of bucks bc I passed one last Sunday I probably would have shot and regretted bc of trail cam pics...great tool!

Beautiful deer. If it's me, assuming this is your managed property, I let him walk for another year. But, a shooter can be different in others eyes. Either way... Good luck!!

He is a really good racked 2.5, but not close to 120ish. He is more like 100". He is a pretty deer. I would wait till he walks out, then decide if he is on your hit list.

In my experience if you've considered shooting a deer and make it a "game time decision" you always shoot them. Especially when your in the midst of a semi-frustrating (from finding and getting on shooters) season like I am having...
I know he's not 120...but if he is a 3.5 at this point in the season I'd seriously think about shooting him.
Interestingly enough, this is the same buck I posted a night black flash pic of on here and he got consistently aged at 4.5. By no means am I saying that people on here are bad at aging. I think the black and white photos can make aging really hard and tend to lead one to over aging a deer.

Weighing him against the rack I just brought home this week, which we gross measured at 120, he doesn't quite have the mass or length yet. If you can give him another year, you'll probably be glad for it, particularly if he's consistently on your place.

He's a lot closer to 110" than 120" may not hit 110". If you are worried about score on him.

I know around what his score would be...Im more interested in his age. As I said earlier, this deer has been aged on here before as 4.5. If he's 3.5 or older I'd shoot him. If he's 2.5 then I'd let him go. Sensus seems to be that he is 2.5 based on daytime photos. Thats fine with me. He is the second big 2.5 that I have around then...more the merrier.
