Deer down on the cold Tennessee ground. 7:10 this morning some does came in to about 25 yards. One decided to hang around. Bad move for her. 25 yards, 270 gr. Platinum Powerbelt, 150gr Pyrodex Pellets, no exit wound, but dropped in her tracks. Dead within 30 seconds. Shot placement, perfect. Still looking for my first buck, but I've got my first kills with bow and muzzleloader this year. I'd say I'm having a successful season. Pics later.

Trevor, it's a CVA Optima. BW, I was really surprised that there was no exit wound. The entrance was .50 cal size, but there was a giant hole in the ribs. No damage to the left side at all. After reading another post on Powerbelts, I was skeptical. I may switch to something else next year. I mean 25 yards with 150 gr. of powder and 270 gr. bullet? No exit? I guess it doesn't matter if they drop straight down, but I'm not counting on that every time, of course. There was ALOT of blood though. Both lungs and a big chunk out of the pump station. Looked for the projectile or fragments, but never found either. I wish I had remembered to photo the wound, but I was pretty amped up at the time.

Im not gonna down the pb but I will say i have never had luck out of them. Every deer I have shot with them, the bullet has actually entered the deer and flew into several pieces with no exit.
