with a 22 cal. Just wondering because it was brought up in another post. I know its legal now but I have not personally ever met anybody legally deer hunting with a 22 cal. in the 30 or more yrs I have been hunting. Even kids deer hunt with a 223. or 243.
I personally think theres not much margin for error when deer hunting with a 22 cal. I killed a buck this week that had an old 22 cal. round in it...

Even kids deer hunt with a 223. or 243.
A .223 is a 22 cal.

Even kids deer hunt with a 223. or 243. A .223 is a 22 cal.
When I'm talking about 22 cal. I'm talking about a 20 grain bullet.... Not compared to a much bigger grain like the .223 or 22-250... We all know the diameters are the smae but there is a big differents in the grains of the bullets.... The bullet pulled from the deer was probably a 17 grain bullet from a regular 22 cal. rifle....

You never asked what weight bullet was ethical. You asked about a 22 cal.

the rimfires are not legal. while it would not be my first or even 5th choice, a centerfire 22 in the right hands with the right bullet is a killer.

I do not think it is ethical...if I shoot Taliban with a .223 I hope his [censored] bleeds out and dies of shock but a deer I want to put him down quick.
