What's going on out there? I hunt on the East side of the county. The bucks are not making rubs. They are barely tending to scrapes. Ther is so little movement its almost scary. Is this the lull before the storm? do y'all think the does will come into heat after the full moon and it will break wide open?

Hunted there all week. Saw a lot of bucks chasing does or just walking with there nose to the ground. Most of them were small 4-6 pt. This was all in the morning till about 9:00 or so. There did not seem to be much scrape activity where I was hunting either. However, on friday morning I had 7 bucks chasing 6 different does all at one time. Nearly scarred me out of my stand. I think the hot weather has not helped much. However, I did manage to get the biggest one on the ground.

Dang. We have covered 2000 acres for the last 2 weekends pretty good and haven't see jack. This property has produced approximately 5 bucks from 110" to 145" every year for the 7 years we have had it. Its not like we are new to the area.

Saw a guy at the processors that said that he shot his buck while it was mounting a doe. Have no reason to doubt his story. Seemed like a straight shooter.

Lots of scrapes on my place in SW Hickman (and I saw 3 brand new scrapes Sunday afternoon that weren't there on Saturday morning), but I haven't seen many rubs at all. I see no evidence of the rut yet, but we usually run late in my area - last week of November to first week of December.
