Rut is on in Moore County. The woods are on fire!! Bucks are running does like I've never seen. I've seen 4 shooters this AM...only one with a shot opportunity but passed. Have no clue why...just one of those things but if he show's his beautiful head again this evening he's going down.

I believe it just depends on what area of the state your hunting. It's not "on" in southest part of the state. I'm still seeing bucks grouped up and plenty of does with fawns. The bucks might be flirting a little, but the does just aren't fully ready yet. I say November 20-30 will be the peak in our area...

I agree, its just too early. Reports from IL and IN are presently experiencing full swing rut. That being said, there is plenty of action to be had in the pre rut!

What part of Moore co? I hunt east Moore co and no-one is seeing any rutting activity. Actually the number of deer being seen are down. Hopefully it'll start by next weekend.

Still seeing does with fawns, and have only seen what looked like a chase 1 time. That was yearling bucks chasing does a week or so ago. Still haven't seen any major rubs and to be honest haven't really seen any deer period for the last 2 weeks or so.

This is in Woodlawn, TN

here in jackson co. i have seen more chasing than ever before and i haven't seen it this early before. some of the chasing i'm seeing is just pestering but i did see a decent 8pt and a spike chase a doe for half hour friday morning. she would run a little ways then stop and the 8pt would run over to her and the spike kept just out of harms way. they were being very vocal also. i just set back and watched the show.

I'm not sure the rut is in full swing in Sumner Co, but I did see 5 small bucks all after one doe on Saturday. It was fun to be on stand either way.

I took 3 days off this week to hunt Wayne Co. I'll report back next week \:\)

My wife saw a What she calls BIG 10 or 12 walking down a major road this morn on the way to church. Said he had his nose to the ground not paying any attention to what was going on around him.

Haven't seen any chasing in Robertson Co yet either. I had a 6 pointer freshen up a scrape while on stand last week. And had a different 5 pointer come in this morning and scrape around in it also. Seems they are looking for does, but when they find them the does aren't interested yet. Hopefully it will kick in soon enough.

Still pre-rut in Hickman Co. Hunted the same spot Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon - saw a grand total of 2 does. Still making scrapes, as I saw 3 brand new scrapes on Sunday that weren't there on Saturday morning. It seems the rut always runs later in my area of SW Hickman; usually doesn't peak until the last week of November / first week of December.
