According to the girl band TLC from years ago, they defined scrub in their hit song "No Scrubs" in the first verse:
"A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me,
And is also known as a buster,
Always talking about what he wants,
And just sitting on his broke ***"
So there you have it. According to TLC, a scrub is a guy that they won't give any love too, is an imposter, and has no money.
