Went hunting this morning on the lease,and I was hunting a powerline,and on the lease,their are several active oil wells and they are serviced regularly by workers that drive to them in their trucks..There was an oil well just off the power line,but the road leading up to it,is in the power line..So I am sitting basically next to the oil well/pump at the end of the road watching the remaining 200yds of powerline,well right at day light a deer trots across not offering a shot,then at 8:15 an oil well worker pulls up,waves at me,hops out,pours some oil on the pump and get in and leave again..Now I knew it was a chance I had to take hunting so close to the road..
I told myself at 9am I was gonna go if I hadn't seen anything,then 10mins later the oil rig kicks on and starts pumping,makeing an awful sound..I said that I wasn't gonna hunt next to it,and that i wouldn't see any deer anyway..SO I pack up and head to the truck at the beginging of the road..I get to my truck and turn around and give 1 last look down the power line and there stands 2 does!! Not 40yds from where I was sitting!!  If I would have waiting 5 more mins,they would have came out right infront of me!!Come to think of it,I bet these deer are used to the oil well guys and the sounds of the pumps running.The deers must not have heard me get up and leave due to the pump running..Thought I'd share that,but Im gonna be back in that same spot in the morning,theres a dead doe walking tonight ladies and gents! Hopefully!

I hunted on the farm Wed AM and didn't see a thing. My brother met me about 11AM and we started cutting firewoodc. I saw 4 deer walk out on the ridge where I had been hiunting and watch us cutting the wood. My brother doesn't hunt and he sees deer all the time when he is using the tractor on the farm. Go figure!!!!

I saw the biggest deer I've ever seen in my life from the cab of a John Deere combine. I was shelling corn in Indiana and he was standing in a fence row, drove right by him and he never even moved. Easily high teens in the tine count, and built more like a horse than a deer.
