Saw you back and posting. I just wanted to know if ya'll saw anything. I talked to J.R. the other day and he said his bucks in his high fence are still running together, which seems a little odd. Just wondering what your observations were this week.

Breeding was about to explode. Bucks were pounding the scrapes. They are actually becoming holes in the ground they are being scraped out so frequently. We saw fawns without mommas the last couple of days. Lots of yearling bucks pester-chasing does, but older bucks were still cruising.

I was thinking that it was about to happen earlier this week. I finally saw something other than a yearling chasing a doe on monday. Now I am seeing does everywhere, and no bucks trailing them. I think this warm weather has changed things. Our older bucks are still using the same patterns that they have been on. All are coming out right at dark and headed to the red oaks.

All of our scrapes have suddenly gone dead--from bucks working them daily to no bucks (other than yearlings) visiting them at all over the last 48 hours. I would say breeding has commenced in earnest in my area.
