I went hunting this morning and had a nice 8 chase a doe 30 yds from my stand. Pulled up the muzzleloader, bang, expected flop, dead. I got, a white tail and he ran off. I got down, looked for blood, nothing. I went back to the tree I had climbed, looked at the spot I had shot at him, 7 ft off the ground, sure enough, nailed a tree. Dang it!!

I once missed a nice 8 pointer standing broadside at 40 yards. I blamed it on buck fever.

it was the biggest tree i have ever taken, 43 points, field dressed at 1784lbs.
