When it asks, number of points, enter "2". It will then ask if the antlers were less than three-inches. There is a warning box on the internet check-in whenever you check in a deer to make sure you enter the antlers correctly.  The bucks are listed in order of points as: BB, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.
but what about those checked at checking stations?

My brother shot 1 like that earlier this season. We have killed 3 or 4 just like it off of the same property over the last few years... big bodied, old -looking bucks with little spike antlers. A couple even flared real nice at the pedicle like it was going to be a thick antler, but tapered real quick to nothing.

They check them in the same way. If a deer has fur covered nubs, it's a button. If they have two small spikes, it is a 2-pointer (with antlers less than 3-inches).
I wouldn't worry too much about the potential errors since the trend is the useful part of that information. In other words, the mistakes should be constant so the trend information is still valid.

Its officially a button buck. according to who? ANY buck with less than 3 inch antlers is considered a button. wrong.i wouldn't say thay but since you pull the twra rules on so many on here I can't believe you don't know that.now you do.lol
i just know how similar deer we have checked in the past have been marked. i will be the first to admit when i am wrong and this is one of those times. i am always willing to learn.

For 28 years I have been told to check a deer like this as 0. Always put BB on kill tags for fawns though.
