Finally took the first deer of the season this morning! Shot a 6-pointer and he was licking a branch and had just seen a doe that was spooked by something (him I guess). Also, about 2:45 this afternoon I saw a large buck running a doe in field while I was driving toward town. I posted recently about thinking rut has been much later here, but now I am not so sure.
