This afternoon, as I was hunting a new spot on my Wilson county lease, I got overun with cows so just a few minutes past 4 I decided to relocate......I was hoping I wouldn't regret moving that late in the afternoon but felt like it was my only chance. As I got up and walked through the field I was in with the cows, I looked into the adjacent field as here was this fellow just standing there watching me. I dropped to one knee, got my shooting sticks positioned and turned up the scope...I knew I only had a few seconds to make the decision to shoot or not....I decided to shoot. He was about 90 yards and quartering to me. I hit him perfectly in the right fron shoulder and he bolted across the field and piled up about 100 yards later. He isn't my biggest but I was definately happy to have him. He was big bodied and appeared to be a solid 2.5 year old...now I'm holding out for something more mature!
