This morning on my way out of town to the woods (driving east on hwy 64 leaving Bartlett) I saw something unusual.
A small buck (3-4 point?) was walking across Stage Road/Hwy 64 entering the Wolfchase Mall parking lot at the Sears entrance. Being a long way from anything resembling natural habitat, I'm wondering whether he was aware of some early sale that I wasn't, or if he was going to scent-check the roving security guards.
To pile on the weirdness, that was the only deer I saw all day long. At the mall...

He came from the woods behind the Dodge dealership.
Several of years ago, wife and I just left Lowes when we noticed a Cadillac sitting in the middle lane of 64. As we passed the car the was a dead doe lying there. Pulled into the dealership and walked up the the car asked them if they were ok, they said yeah, we're fine. Walked over to the doe looked at them, then back at the doe. I just grabbed her front leg and drugged her to my truck, loader her up and left.
