When does the rut usually kick in around Clay county? Just wondering. I hunt in Cumberland county, KY and this is my first year there. Just trying to get an idea. It would be appreciated. Thanks!

This cold weather coming in could jumpstart it a little but generally mid to end nov I believe!

Anything new? On our land in Cumberland County it appears they started the seek phase this week with all the tracks up and down the roads. Hopefully it will bust wide open with the low pressure coming in on Saturday night.

Doesn't seem to have take hold yet, haven't seen any running does. Expeted them to be everywhere last weekend and it ended up being a bust for us! Had tons on cams even a few fights, but not even a nanny running around us last weekend go figure.

Everyone was expecting it to kick in last weekend but it appears it did the opposite. Everyone I heard from said they saw very few deer. I thought the very low illumination of the moon would have them out like crazy.
But it seems it worked out for the better for this upcoming weekend
