I have been hunting quite a bit this year. Maybe 3-4 days a week. I have become addicted to bow hunting and through my time spent in the woods this year I have picked up on a bit of a common trend. I have noticed the majority of deer movement in the morning occurs in the "woods" and the huge majority of afternoon movement is in the ag fields. I think I have seen 2...yes 2 deer in the woods in the afternoons I hunted the woods.

What is the logic behind this? Is it moving to food sources in the afternoons or transitioning to bedding areas? What is it?

Wow, that would be great for me this weekend if the wind predictions hold true.

I agree somewhat, the nearest field to me is probably a half a mile away on another property, so I can't say for sure thats were the deer hang out in the afternoons. But I do see more deer in the woods running the ridges in the mornings and only seen maybe 2-3 deer in the afternoons up there. With these cool mornings and warm afternoons, I see more deer in the mornings.

They have to be getting to those fields some way, maybe a scouting trip to find out how would be worth it,might catch the "big boy" before it gets dark.
