This is what is happening. Whether people want to admit it or not, this is happening.

Does it really matter if we keep the racks or not. I've always hunted for the sport and making memories with family members. I personally don't care about keeping antlers or mounting heads. I've got one in my son's room (young 8 that scored 110) and another that I didn't have the money, so my uncle footed the bill (8 pt that scored 144). I let him keep the mount and since he's passed away I have no idea where it is. I'm just don't get the obsession with hunting racks and not deer. I know it is tougher to shoot older, more mature bucks, but don't get depressed or upset if someone is happy with a spike.

That is just a general blanket statement, you don't know what other folks situations are do you...cause thats not what I am experianceing. In the last several years I am generaly seeing 4 or 5 bucks for every doe where I am hunting.

If you are honestly trying to tell me that you think you're buck to doe ratio is 4:1 or 5:1, I would say that that sounds like a terrible job of herd management, or you are just in a very good spot.

I have a couple of spots where I only ever see bucks too. Its a very narrow strip of woods leading from a thicket. Not once have I ever seen a doe come from them.

Just like last year, and the year before, I saw no does the first days of the hunting season, and I shot a little 7pt, each year. It was the only deer I took each year too. Later on in the season I saw a total of 7 does with 4-5 little ones and they all walked, b/c I don't have the luxury of taking does in late season in Unit A, not even a doe tag available in my county.

Entire regulatory agencies have taken up the stance that I have an have enacted point rules.

Whether they work or not is a different discussion, but there isn't any question that a lot of people feel the same way I do

I think some people worry too much about other people. Threads like this almost make me want to go slay a couple fork horns and post the pics. I'm not trying to be ugly, but get over yourself and quite worrying about what everyone else is shooting and try to ENJOY hunting for what it is. If those little spikes made them happy or if telling their buddy's " I killed 3 bucks this year" makes them feel good and gives them a since of accomplishment then so be it. The regs are set up for the betterment of the deer herd and there are veeeery few hunters that will even kill 3/yr. Heck, probably 80% (my guess) of the hunters out there pass on those little ones and takes fewer and bigger bucks nowadays anyhow. So what does it matter if a few guys don't want to spend 1000 hours on stand and 1000000 hours during the summer obsessing about the size and age of the deer he wants to shoot, and just goes out and shoots whatever he sees (providing it's legal, of course)? If that's makes them happy then I say mission accomplished. \:\)

Did you toss the horns in the trash?
