We are hunting 11 as well. Have you been to that area before? I have been looking at it from Google Earth and I see a lot of potential. We are going for the quota gun hunt on the 27th. When are you going?

I'm going to try the "Ms. Novemeber" doe decoy by Tinks this year. Inflatable and looks realistic. I just hope a lil buck don't mess with her. LOL I think it could have really helped me out last year. It's legal to use at LBL!

Yes, a decoy is Legal at LBL.

The rut seems to be on at LBL. The bowhunters have been harvesting a lot of nice deer latey-- a lot more when compared to this time last year. Lots of deer moving around-- especially in the Tennessee portion of LBL.

Well got home around 1am this morning..empty handed. Hunting with a bow when the bucks are chasing that hard is very tough and very fun at the same time. I was able to get a nice buck stopped yesterday that was chasing a doe around 2pm but, he was in cover and basically just walked away without a shot opportunity.

The most intense rut activity I ever recall seeing in the 30 plus years of hunting. All the 2.5+ year old bucks were running doe all the younger bucks were wandering around looking for a stray.

Good luck everyone this weekend on the quota hunt. Only advice Id give, stay in the woods all day and you should see plenty of action.

Bow hunting may actually improve by the time you get up there. The bucks should be doing a little more cruising around and less wide open chasing.
According to how my son and I do muzzle loading this weekend, Id like to go up around Thursday or Friday next week and give it another go.

Yup, I will be up there next week for sure if I can't score with a gun on this next quota hunt, the 12th and 13th. Next week it is going to be temp high in the 50s. Should be great hunting!
