I wonder who can take more damage and keep on moving...a deer or a man. I have made two deployments to Iraq and seen some humans who have been wounded and I have seen many deer that have been shot and not gone down. It seems to me that the deer can take more punishment. What do you think?

I vote deer. Ever see one get pounded by a car? Sometimes they just lay there for a minute, than BAM they're up and out of there. Also survive gun shot wounds with no treatment. Pretty stout animal for sure.

I've heard stories of, upon butchering mature deer, people finding that they have a deflated lung, a broad head or two, buck shot and a slug buried in various parts of their hides. They seem to be able to survive infection considerably more than humans. Not to mention, their ability to tolerate pain.

Years ago, read an article by a coroner or someone who said that humans could take far more damage than we think. Many times, a person who has been shot will go down even though the shot itself isn't that serious. The conclusion was that we have become so accustomed to seeing people get shot once and die on television, we subconsciously react that way.
I'd say it has some validity, because there are people out there who have been shot multiple times yet continued to fight on.
