I'd say its on. Just witnessed the fourth chase of the morning. 2 of the bucks were fully mature. Kind of sucks lots of action very little Opportunity with a bow. When the deer are running full bore and aint Stopping for nothing..
Think ill sit tight. Two of the chases a small 8 and 4 were trailing Them. Maybe I will get lucky.
Should be a good quota hunt this weekend.

I was up there this morning too. It was CRAZY!!! I never even made it to my stand site. I got 200 yrds into the woods and had deer running around me at 5:15 am. I moved up into tight group of trees and took a knee. I heard chasing till it got light enough to see and then all quiet, for about 10 minutes and then it was all crazy again. 5 bucks were chasing this one poor old doe. I had deer run within 15 yards of me several time but they never would stop for a good shot. It was a thicket area so there wasn't many options. It lasted till about 8:30 amand stayed pretty quiet till I had to leave. I had to be back home by 11:00 so I left around 10:00. I hope it is like that friday when I have a gun!!!

Any of you ever tried using a doe decoy? I know it will not get a buck off a hot doe but if she's not hot he might come in close enought to at least take a look. I'm going to try the "Ms. Novemeber" doe decoy by Tinks this year. Inflatable and looks realistic. I just hope a lil buck don't mess with her. LOL I think it could have really helped me out last year. It's legal to use at LBL!

We are hunting 11 as well. Have you been to that area before? I have been looking at it from Google Earth and I see a lot of potential. We are going for the quota gun hunt on the 27th. When are you going?

The rut seems to be on at LBL. The bowhunters have been harvesting a lot of nice deer latey-- a lot more when compared to this time last year. Lots of deer moving around-- especially in the Tennessee portion of LBL.

Well got home around 1am this morning..empty handed. Hunting with a bow when the bucks are chasing that hard is very tough and very fun at the same time. I was able to get a nice buck stopped yesterday that was chasing a doe around 2pm but, he was in cover and basically just walked away without a shot opportunity.
The most intense rut activity I ever recall seeing in the 30 plus years of hunting. All the 2.5+ year old bucks were running doe all the younger bucks were wandering around looking for a stray.
Good luck everyone this weekend on the quota hunt. Only advice Id give, stay in the woods all day and you should see plenty of action.

Bow hunting may actually improve by the time you get up there. The bucks should be doing a little more cruising around and less wide open chasing. According to how my son and I do muzzle loading this weekend, Id like to go up around Thursday or Friday next week and give it another go.

Yup, I will be up there next week for sure if I can't score with a gun on this next quota hunt, the 12th and 13th. Next week it is going to be temp high in the 50s. Should be great hunting!

That's what I was hoping to hear. I'll be a worthless employee until I can get in the woods and calm down a little. All I do is look at this site and the weather. LOL

Yeah. There are a lot of lines on the topo map:) would be nice to find a good thicket for sure. I may try scouting the very northwest of the area. Im not really going to factor in the wind on this hunt due to the fact that there were 105 permits issued just for area 11. We'll be dodging bullets
