Still hunting is something I want to get into...got a .30 30 perfect for that lol!
Now, don't get me started!!!!! (Actually, I've mellowed on the 30-30. Just use LEVERevolution.)
That's what I shoot...sighted 3" high at 100 yards.

It may change what I see but not really my hunting. We're a couple of weeks away from activity heating up I may do alot of looking and fine tuning.

Damnation Jakeway! The 30-30 is hard to beat as a deer rifle in general but when you top a good levergun with a set of receiver sights that sport a wide twilight aperture you have the absolute monarch of stillhunting rifles! Now, admittedly, caliber matters much less than bullet placement, but the 30-30's 106 year track record is hard to refute. Only the 30-06 and 45-70 are in the same category of cartridges with longevity and widespread use.
Get yourself a good fitting lever-rifle ant outfit it with a quality set of receiver sights. Even if you don't choose the 30-30, one in 444, 45-70, 450 Marlin, 308 Marlin, 338 Marlin, 44 magnum, or 45 Colt will make for the finest stillhunting rifle a man could ever hope for!

See what you started, UTGrad?
Other than that, I'm not going to comment on any more 30-30 questions unless I'm specifically asked.
Now, back to our regularly-scheduled weather report.

Deer still have to eat, drink, poop and they usually do it in the woods and fields. That's where I'll be.
