I've been surprised many times by the caliber of buck that exists even on highly pressured areas. I ain't saying they are going to be easy to kill, but sounds like most of these guys are only hunting a few days out of the year anyway. So really, what are the chances? They'll take out 2-3 bucks during gun season, but it won't hurt you overall. -don't expect Lee and Tiffany to show up your property, but you'll be ok.

I hunt a small, 50 acre tract several times a seasons. It is surrounded on 4 sides by extreme pressure of "shoot anything that moves" type of hunters. On groupe of guys cut a highway parallel with the property line so they can intercept deer moving onto this property. I have also observed these guys shooting at deer running full speed, 400+ yards away.

I have been pleasantly surprised to see a couple of bucks that have survived into their 3rd season. I suspect that there is at least one 4.5+ year old out there as well.

Hunt,

You are probably the one that will get the big bucks. You scout them hard and work hard, so your hard work should pay off. They could get lucky and score with a big buck, but there is nothing you can really do about it. I'm pulling for you, now get a big buck!

if it makes you happy to shoot it..then shoot it. If not, let them enjoy the chance to kill. Some of these deer will survive and it will be challenging but you can hunt them. Make you a few sanctuary areas. I'd say They will abide by a sanctuary rule better than antler restrictions.

What are your goals? If you need meat than take the small ones...if you want something bigger let your family take the small ones.

Sounds like your going to need your own property if you want to do it all your own way.

To some not killing deer is not fun. If you want to have fun, kill some deer! I thought you should understand this HuntFUN!

Seriously, if you want to shut down the fun, then start imposing rules on others.
