Do you put out salt or any kind of minerals in the bottoms where it is prone to flood? If so after it has flooded and the water recedes do the deer go back to using the salt lick or does the water just kinda wash it away? If it doesn't how long have you had the same lick that is flooded on a regular basis?

I was just wondering if the water would destroy all your efforts or if they would keep revisiting after the water was gone.

Use a pair of old blue jeans(with the legs tied up), burlap sack, or what ever and hang the salt from a tree,...that way when the floods recced then the salt lick is still doing its thing....

When we make a lick in the La. swamps we always put it in a old hollow stump.A Cypress Stump lick will last for years and years and years.

salt on a "tree stump" located in the flood plains of Hatchie Bottom works great, just refresh on a yearly basis
