I spent more time in a tree this weekend than I did my house. Went again this morning. Several long hunts, and I've only seen 1 spike. This is the same area that I saw several deer bowhunting. Last Thursday I saw 4 bucks and 2 does from this same stand. I'm still as dilligent about my scent cover up. I'm still good and quiet getting in the woods. I dont get it. Of course, I've only heard a muzzleloader go off 4 times since the season started, so apparently no one else is seeing them (or shootin them anyhow) either.
What gives?

Im opposite of you..During bow season,I think I seen a total of 5 or 6 deer,including the one I shot..And I hunted alot,so this past weekend,Saturday I seen 5 deer,and sunday afternoon I seen 3..Didn't hunt sunday morning..The deer in my area are definatly up and moving now as compared to bow season..

I think they're moving in the middle of the day. I was leaving the farm saturday around 1pm and saw them running around all the way back to the house.

Sudden spike in ML pressure, both scouting and hunting, in your area could have caused dramatic changes in movement. Hold steady and try to get out on Wednesday, after things settle down from the intense weekend.

I thought about the mid day aspect. Saturday I got down at 11 and came back at 1pm. I reckon I could've run em off when I was coming and going then. I'm watching a scrape that got cleaned out again sometime between Saturday evening and 1pm Sunday. I'm as confused as I've ever been and its making me paranoid. LOL
HELP!!!

If you're only getting down for 2 hours, I would try to stay on stand until 1:00 and then take a 1 hour break. You're only talking about a 1 hour difference.
Just take you some food and get down from your stand and go down wind a little bit to a rea where you don't expect deer activity, stretch out, maybe lay down for a little bit. -no need to return your truck or house and risk disturbances.

Went to another section of my farm this evening and saw 4 does travelling together, not a buck to be seen anywhere them. But at least I saw some deer.

Talked to Andy Tweed (GW) last night, he said most of the deer he is seeing is mid-day
On 14 hunts, I've seen 5 deer
