Looking to get a 25-06 barrel for my Encore. Does anyone on hear shoot one?? If so how do you like it? How does it shoot and how is the recoil? Thanks

I bought a stainless .25-06 heavy barrel three years ago on Gunbroker for my Encore. It is my favorite rifle to deer hunt with, especially in fields. I shoot the 115 grain Winchester Ballistic Silvertip sighted in dead on at 200 yards. And it has very manageable recoil.

very good gun...they only problem i have with my 25-06 is the ammo is about $40 a box.but a very good round...i love my encore i have killed probally 15 deer with it the last 3 years none have made it more than 15 yards.

I double-lunged an 8 point at Reelfoot NWR Friday morning at a measured 178 yards and he dropped in his tracks.
