I used just about everyone's advise if I had it here. I stayed from 6am til dark. I was chilly at times but about 4:00 I got the shakes bad. My eyeballs were cold. I added the warmer to my neck and hunkered down. The wind was bad. I did see 6 deer but only a 3pt that offered a shot.

A similar trick, if you're in a treestand, is to climb down and back up about five times in a row. Really gets the blood goin'

NO cotton anywhere. Wicking first layer completely, top to bottom. Fleece and wool for everything else.


Head and face stocking and neck gaitor.


Depending on where/how you hunt, step into large sleeping bag and sit down.

A person can stay warm and not break the bank, just have to be a little creative and think about what you're wearing and how.
