My Personal Best

Shot that is! I've always dreamed of a long distance shot but never thought it would come with a muzzleloader. I killed this buck at 190-yards with a 50 cal. T/C Encore ProHunter using a 295 gr. hollow point power belt and 110-gr. loose 777. I had my rifle zeroed at 100-yard; this buck walked out today at 150-yards. I grunted and snort wheezed trying to get him to come closer all he would do is paw the ground and act all mean. He left the field for about 20-min. I thought I had missed the opportunity to get him then all the sudden he comes back out but this time he was close to 200-yards. It's now or never, I held at the top of the back, settled in and squeezed one off. It was snowing so hard and with all the smoke I couldn't see anything. I didn't know if I hit him, which way he went or nothing. I climb down gather all my stuff and start the walk. I'm looking everywhere on the way up to see if I see him then I hit the top of the field and there he lay right where I shot him; 136-lb 8-point, I couldn't be happier.
