I'm thinking in the stand by 5:15, settled in and comfy by 5:30 at the latest. How bout you guys?

where are you hunting? Official sunrise is 7:14 Central time, so you can't legally shoot until 6:44 am.
I'll probably get up around 6:10-6:15 that's just me though. More power to you if you want to sit for 1 1/2 hours before you can shoot.

I plan on being in my stand by 5:45. i leave my house at 6:15 every morning for work and its still pretty dark and dont start breaking til around 6:30.

I hunt a heavily wooded area with steep ridges on both sides, usually bump deer going in unless I go in very early. The deer are usually moving through and feeding in the area before and right at daylight. If I go in early and bump deer it gives it atleast a little time to quiet down again before sunrise.

I'll be in the stand by around 545, but only cause I usually kick a few up on the walk in.

There in lies my problem. Legal shooting starts around 630, and I've typically already walked WAY back to my tree, set my scents, and climbed and all settled in by 530 at the latest. My problem is that I tend to jump them on the way in. Apparently I'm going to the wrong spot, but the other night when it was a full moon, they were just walking around like it was nobody's business and were all over the place.....Plus the fact that I'm still green as a gourd at this prob. don't help much.
