It will most likely be a noisy walk in sat morning. The leaves have been falling fast here. Alittle more noise won't hurt a thing.

Then don't go in until first gray light. Still hunt your way to the area.

I know this seems obvious, but if you decide to set up in the dark, make sure to wear a headlamp or cap w/ clip-on light instead of carrying a hand-held flashlight. It'll make it much, much easier.
No matter how you do it, good luck to you!

I'm going to give you best advaice on this thread. Wait until it is not dark.
I don't even walk into the woods until I can do so without a light and my success rate went up.

Every time I set up in a new area in the dark, as soon as the sun comes up all of a sudden the tree I picked doesnt look so good after all. Seems there was always a better looking spot just another 20 yards in.

If your worried about location and you can't go the day before to pick one, then I would wait for first light. Maybe get to the general area and start looking for a tree as the light comes so you can be up before it's bright

I have killed a ton of deer setting up a climber the morning of. Biggest thing is wear a hat light. Get to your tree well before daylight climb slow. Noise doesn't hurt you as much as you would think. As long as you are settled in before it starts getting lint you don't have to rush. It sucks to look down while climbing and see a deer run off that you spooked.
Good luck his weekend.

Just do it , I've seen deer right after daybreak that had to be close and had to hear me . I had rather be in a tree than on the ground !!
