The butterfly feeling that is! Night before last I was thinking of the opening morning and what I needed to do for last minute preps, and it hit me, that funny feeling in the pit of my stomach from the excitement! $;\)$ Anybody else get that feeling before the opener?

Yep, but this year is different. The weather is finally going to be cold on the opener. I truly think this muzzle loader season is gonna be a record breaker. I just wish my son could go Saturday morning with me. But being in the THP academy is helping him secure his future.

I'm torn between being excited and wanting to hold my hopes in check. Nothing is worse than major disappointment. We won't know if it will be a great opener of MZ until after it's over, but I'll be out there either way.

X2.....I have hunted several openings with great weather only to be let down by minimal deer sightings. It wasn't just me either, it was me and the other 25 hunters I quizzed after we got out of the woods for the weekend. I love the great weather but that does not always equal great deer hunting. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a great weekend for everyone.
