I have blamed my dip spit before when a deer busts me in the stand, but I truely don't think they care too much. If I'm hunting an area like Illinois where i have paid to hunt, I always spit in a bottle (just mental).

I used to spit n a bottle along with pissin in a bottle too. Now a day, I let both of em fly.

I love to dip. I really can't explain why. I can't say it hasn't hurt my success while hunting. Maybe it has, maybe it hasn't. But I've killed some awfully good bucks while dipping and spitting on the ground.

Had a guy tell me once that he would buy copenhagen from this that was like dust and mix it into his feeders during the summer months so that they would be used to the smell.

I have been spitting copenhagen on the ground for years. To me, hunting ain't the same without a big dip. Always dip on the right side, unless it's bow season, then I slide it over to the left. Never had a deer spook from my spit yet.
I do often wonder, if it bothers them after I am long gone from the stand, on a hot sunny day. You know what I mean if you have opened a week old spit bottle that has been in your truck in the summer. Make you puke in your mouth a little.
