I just mounted a new scope on my ML and have bore sighted in as close as I can get it. I prolly will not have time to go to the range before Saturday, so how accurate do you think this bore sighting technique is? This is my first bore sighting experience...

Not very accurate in my opinion........I wouldn't hunt until you did. The very first time you fire the weapon shouldn't be at a live animal.

Definitely not good enough. You need to shoot the gun.

You should be on the target paper at 50 yards, but I agree, that certainly isn't good enough for hunting purposes.

we bore sighted one a couple weeks ago and barely hit paper at 50 yds. the bullet/powder combo will greatly affect it. better try to shoot it if u can or u may regret it. jmo.

Why wouldn't you have time to go to the range?

Are you serious? Guessing at where a gun is aiming aint gonna cut it, sorry to tell ya.

I had mine bore sighted last year and I had to make several shots before I was dead on at 50. If you're not going to have free time until Saturday then I highly recommend using the early morning shooting instead of hunting. The weather should be perfect for hunting all day. Just go in a little late with confidence in your weapon.

I wouldn't even think about it until I shot.

Got a new scope boresighted this summer. Came home and shot it, 8 inches low at 50 yards. On paper though so I could make adjustments. I get it close then move the target out to 100 for some fine tuning. You really should shoot it!

You do not need to hunt until you have sighted in your weapon properly, plain and simple. You owe it to the animal you hunt to make every effort for a quick humane kill.
