Two of my sons score their first deer!

I am one proud papa! Took them on public land within an hour of each other on one of the Youth Hunts here in Louisiana. We were sitting in the Primos ground blind the wife bought us for this trip when the older one looked at me and asked, "Where did those decoys come from?" I looked and told him they were not decoys. He shot a 4 pt and missed with my 30-30. The younger one stepped up and shot his with his CVA .243. Deer ran 20 yards and dropped. The older one was sulking in the blind about missing and I was trying to console him. He said he wanted to go and come back later. We packed up everything and were about to leave when the younger one told him to get his gun and shoot the deer. He looked up and saw a 7 pt with three does. He put the rifle on the monopod, pulled the trigger, CLICK! He forgot to take the gun off safe. The buck walked back into the thick stuff leaving the does on their own. He pushed the safety in, pulled the hammer back, and BOOM! Double lunged her with the Hornady Leveroution cartridge. She jumped up and began running towards him. Scared the crap out of him and he panicked trying to chamber a fresh cartridge into the chamber. She collapsed 40 yards in front of him before he could shoot again. I put the blood smudge in the first one; he put the large smear on his own face before I could get there. Both are hooked for life as they keep asking when they can hunt again! I am taking my other two this weekend, and I hope for a repeat performance!
