I was considering getting one as a spare. Since I'll have to hump it in, weight's a consideration, the 20 lbs is appealing. Opinions, especially negatives on it?

i like my viper. i put some good pack straps on it. It is a good all day setting stand

had several climbers--viper SS is the most comfortable. It is rock solid and light enough for carrying. I made two modifications-better straps (with padding) that I got at a mil surplus store, and I put no-slip tread tape on the standing platform cross members. It felt a little slippery when it was wet. Maybe it was my boots, but it's good and grippy for my boot soles now. As a bonus comes with a decent body harness. You won't be dissapointed in the viper. Good huntin'-

they make a pad that attaches to the platform. made of clsed cell foam that is great.

i would also put a footrest on it. i got one from gator-buck and i love it.

i just sold one. hated to but i sold my bow and i gun hunt from the ground so didnt really need it :(,they are the most comfortable stand you can have in my opinon.

If you can find the air bladder seat for it, get it. Mine is an older model and came with it. After 10 years, I need to replace it but it appears Summit doesn't make it anymore. I also like the accessory bags you can hang from the arms.
The bad: plan on replacing the shrink tubing on the cables about every two years. Gets loud if you don't.
