In our area, buck activity started picking up last Friday when the cold front moved in the area. We were up there last Thursday/Friday and young bucks were chasing does and we saw a lot of activity through the late morning. Reports from my friends that live up there say that its getting better every day.
IMO, there is no place like the Midwest during November!

Leaving myself probably Sat., will hunt about 10 days, come home for my little girls BD party, then head right back thru the first gun hunt. Will be gunning in Hamilton, bow huntin in Franklin, Jefferson, Williamson, Hamilton, or where ever I end up. Good luck to all!

i just have no desire to travel to hunt something i can hunt at home.

Makes no sense, can you not shoot tourneys at home? Like I said if your going to travel to Illinois with a bow, it very much needs to be to hunt the huge deer they have there, IMO anyway. If you didnt like to travel period it would make some sense.

An old marine buddy of mine lives up there so he hooks me up with places to hunt. There is tons of public land as well that Ill also be checking out if his spots arent producing.

The public land up there is better than any private land around here that I have seen.

Can't go this year because of my 3 mth old boy, plus the wife would kill me. I friend of mine just got back empty handed but another friend of mine just shot nice 8 monday. All in Brown county. The good thing is that all of the corn is out this year so you boys should have some good luck! Travel safe!

I grew up in Illinois, so I get to hunt some of my old stompin grounds. The best place was sold a few years ago and is now leased out. Mostly though I enjoy just being in the woods with my family. Always a chance a booner will walk by, but I sure don't let it bother me if he doesn't. Shooting a big deer in Illinois with limited scouting on a 3 day gun hunt is not as easy as the magazines make it seem.
