I actually peppered a pack of four dogs this morning. A rotty, a rotty half-mutt, two other skruffs= pretty sure I didn't hit em, just put the fear of God into them.
I don't want them nosing around here with my new puppy. Who knows if they had shots, were wild, ...ain't taking no chances.

I can see both sides of the story. If you feel threatened by an animal on your property, I feel like you should have the right to shoot it.
Unfortunately, in the PC world we live in, there are necessary steps (contacting the owner, police, animal control) that must be taken before you can legally take the action this guy did.
Triple S method of management.
(Shoot, Shove, Shut-up!)
Wrong, you can take immediate action as he did IF it is on your property and threatening you.
He would have been long over the loss of those two dogs as they would have died the first time.

A buddy of mine's old lady shot and killed a dog Sunday. Two dogs from down the road had been running around their yard and harrassing their chickens.
Well Sunday, while me and my bud were @ work, the 2 dogs got into the pen with their chickens and killed them all. My buddy's old lady went outside to try and run the dogs off, and one growled at her. So she went inside, grabbed a New England Arms single shot 12Ga, shoved a #6 shot game load in, and justice was served.
She didn't hold the gun properly, or very firmly, and she's got a huge bruise on her...uh, breast.
So far there has been no further drama, no cops, no fueding, guess they're going to call it even.

Good for him! It's a shame the little girl had to see that, but that guy has to look after his family.

"At night when my mom and dad are out, I'm watching my brothers, and every little noise scares me," she said.
Hmmmmm. Are mom and dad both working at night? If not, they should not be leaving the 12 year old to baby sit her brothers, esp after what could have been a very traumatic experience for her

I was thinking the same thing. Kind of sheds light on their lifestyle.
