I know that it has been documented that the full moon will coencide with some aquatic species mating. Does it or is it theorized that the fuul moon will affect deer rut?

Not BSK but NO! Sure its been said to have an effect, but most studies prove otherwise! Weather is a much better daytime predictor!

I already read that. I'm referri8ng specifically to the rut. I know it hits a certain time of the yr but no one really knows exactly when. I also know nott all the deer star5t at the same time. BUT doe the moon phases (fuul moon) affect the timing?

Read through this one. Especially the third and fourth pages. I think your questions will be answered.

No, the moon phases do not affect the timing of the rut, only minor influences on how much activity occurs during daylight.

What rut? I used to think there was a rut. Now I'm not so sure. Last several years there has been cruising/chasing behavior sporadically from mid-October to mid-December, without any particular "peak" that I could see. Of course, my observations limited to my area of mid-TN only.

The only major influence that I can pick out is weather. 50 degree high = deer sightings way up. Rainy days = deer sightings way down.

I am seeing the same thing brother. No peak or 1st or 2nd rut but one long one. If there was a peak I would say it is around the middle to end of dec. in my area.

We have definitely had very flukey "observable" ruts the last three years. It would be nice to see it go back to normal this year.
