Yep i would have had to kill him. doubt he would have lived. infection had probably already set in. i'd be skeptical on eating it too

Not to hijack your thread Steven, but I wonder what type of broadhead was used on that first shot? That is one helluva of an entry wound. I bet the hunter who shot that deer the first time is thinking what the he!!......how did I lose that deer? A prime example that shot placement is key. ;\)

Looked just like the holes you see posted from rage and other wide 2 blade broadheads. It was angled, like from a treestand.

Good job man! If infection didn't get him I'd say the carnivores would have. On the farm I am hunting I saw a coyote feeding on something at daybreak just below me on the ridge. Turned out to be a gut shot doe. The coyotes had eat out some of her insides but could see an obvious hole in the paunch. Wish I could have finished her off before they did.
