i was in KY hunting the ML season sunday when i got a phone call about 9 am and it was my buddy calling to tell me he just shot great buck. he said that he thought the shot was a little too far back and that he was going to leave to go to church then return to look for it later. he then ask if i was going to stay all day or head back home in a little bit. i told him i had planned on staying but if he thinks he will need me then i would be glad to come and help. i could tell he hated to ask me so i just said well i can home around 1 or so.
we got started tracking about 2:00 and it was ruff. hardly any blood at all so we just started to zig zag in an organized way all over the hill. we found it about 5:00 laying in the bottom of the hollow in a creek. the deer was still cool to the touch due to laying in the water so we don't think the meat was ruined. it was indeed a gut shot, but all turned out well.
