Hey everyone, I was hoping to benefit from the knowledge of some of the folks on here who hunt LBL regularly and maybe get your opinions on a few places I am planning on trying. I am not asking anyone to divulge their favorite spots or anything like that because I know you all worked hard to find them. I have camped and fished at LBL quite a bit in years past but never really hunted there. My wife and I plan to spend a few days there when I get home in late December and I would love to be able to put her on a deer with her bow. She has been practicing all year as well as taking care of our kids all by herself and she deserves a good hunt. This year we will only get a few days to hunt together and I want to make them count.
Mainly I was wondering what areas you guys have had success in during the late season. We each have a climbing stand and don’t mind walking so I am open to pretty much anywhere yall think would be good. I had planned to focus on the northern half of hunt zone 14 because that is the area I am most familiar with and I have seen a lot of deer there. I haven’t been there in a few years though. I was also thinking about hunt zone 11 because of the terrain and the north south trail. I figure we can cover a lot of ground on foot using the trail and look for fresh sign along the way. I am waiting on some topographical maps to come in the mail so I can become better educated on the area.
Well thanks for reading my post and if you feel like sharing some ideas I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for taking the time to answer and you are welcome. That is great to know about the no hunting zones. I call myself researching the area but this is the first I heard about that. I am pretty sure I know where Brandon Springs Group Camp is too. I will be sure to check it out.

You're welcome. The Group Camp area is right in the middle of area 14.

I'm stationed right down the road in Paris landing. I don't know LBL real good but i have a few spots that i have seen deer at. Logistically speaking, if you need anything when you are in the area look me up. I'd be glad to help. The woods look great after spending a year in a dirt hole. PM me if you want any details. Google earth is a big help too. Stay safe,
