Stuck this dude about 7:40 yesterday morning. Perfect morning...calm and cool. Marked a tree last weekend to climb. I knew I couldn't find the tree in the dark so I waited as it was getting light to ease my way in. Well there was no sneaking my way in. Had turkeys bustin off the roost everywhere and jumped a few going in that blew at me forever. Thought I wasn't going to see squat!

Heard something that sounded like a deer and finally got a glimpse of this rack rubbing a tree about 40 yards in front of me. He started moving towards a opening at 30 yards (I had ranged it) so I drew but as soon as he hit the opening he started angling right towards my tree...I held draw. He kept coming and finally at about 7-8yards to my right I had to stop him. He was slightly quartering towards me but I couldn't let him go any further right because of my safety harness. The slick trick entered the front shoulder and settled in the offside shoulder. Still got both lungs. He went about 75 yards and I could see him fall. I was about to fall out of my tree as well and had to sit down. Unbelievable hunt! Then the hard work began but I didn't mind.
