I am hunting this particular buck who is coming to a particular location. Only problem, I wasn't positive from which direction he was coming. Been parking my car 200-300 yards away, behind an old abandoned house. Well hidden and well out of sight of the paths I THOUGHT the big buck might use to get to my location. I hunted yesterday evening, didn't see anything. BUT, the landowner was under a picnic shed watching. He said that buck came out way yonder away from where I was hunting, headed my way, saw my car and turned and high-tailed it out of there! I never knew he was within a hundred miles last night!!!! Oh well, guess I will have to find a different parking place!

Btw, that buck was in the field around 4:30-5:00 pm.

I am lazy...no doubt. But, I really thought that was the best place to park. I wanted somewhere I could slip in and out without tracking across the whole farm. I was well hid, behind that house would hide any lights and noise after dark when I got to my car, I could slip out pretty quietly without spooking deer after dark. I thought I knew which way that buck was coming from...but I was wrong. Just kind of parked in the wrong place and wrong time. I'll have to walk across the farm, and risk bumping up some deer after dark. No other choice, obviously!

Just chalk it up to "lesson learned" and keep at it. Every one of us, no matter how experienced, still get slapped in the face by new lessons every year.

Thats a shame pastor. Sorry to hear.
BUT....I would rather have a deer spook from seeing a vehicle, than seeing or smelling me, "the hunter"
