Thanks for the info...I might end up regretting it but I went with the Etrex Legend. Needed the extra $$'s for my Sportsman License.

So far so good. I've even got the Mapsource CD's on the way from my ol' man so I saved a few $$'s there. Very easy to use I might add.

I've been told the Mapsource's Topo map only had elevations at 50' intervals, not the 20' intervals that the USGS has. Is this true? If so, doesn't that really limit the usefulness of the Mapsourse topos?
Thanks!

Glad you should ask, Mike...This is a hunting forum for hunters to discuss hunting gear...You know..Boots, camo guns, ammo, knives, stuff like that...Traditional stuff.. Hunters need to know basic stuff from experience...I don't like to see people in the woods with a cell phone in one hand and a GPS in the other, and I certainly would advise that you not become too reliant on stuff that Can fail or be lost...hunting is a sport...lets play fairly...Give a deer a chance...Note; not intended to help this discussion. Thanks for having me.....Ta..Ta.....................BH51

Ok, now, you've touched a nerve. All that drivle (and it is) is just an arbitrary line you've drawn. Do you hunt with just a big stick and a loin-cloth? No?!?! Well, then, you've accepted a certian level of technology. Others except a different level.
As to the comment about spending money on my kids, this was a gift FROM them, you twit! I honor them by using it.
Next time you feel like you need add something to a thread, please try to bring some value to it. If you can't (as you haven't as of yet), then please shut the F#$% up!

Goodness!..Mike!..I have touched a nerve, haven't I.... Name calling?...(Twit, you say?)...(Shut tha ---- up?) You certain kicked my butt with your keyboard....Oh! I see, your from Missouri..Well Mike, please accept my apology...I may not have brought value to this thread but I certainly have struck a blow for this forum and hopefully to the challenge of hunting in the minds of many..(I hope). Maybe some day, after you cool-off from your computor rage, you'll come to understand my point...Probably when your high-tech equipment fails you in the middle of nowhere..BH51
