I agree with the numerous other posts, you need to shoot what makes you happy and don't listen to anyone else, especially the buddy that might give you a hard time for killing a smaller buck, in the past I have killed many small bucks, and does, and most importantly I have always been very happy with every kill. Plain and simple, listen to yourself and no one else. Good Luck learning!
