Glance at the rack then find the vitals before the old "buck fever" sets in. If i watched a buck like the rich boys on tv do i'd never hit one.
Shoot first then measure the rack on the tailgate.

All of the
sudden the deer stops with only one small pocket to shoot thru.
His shoulder is exposed in that small pocket, but you still
don't know all the above varibles.
I had that exact thing happen. I shot him. At close to 160 gross, I didn't need to know how old he was.
