All, Folks I am hunting in Hamilton Alabama and in a new club. I need some help trying to get these bucks or at least one of them. I have several bucks in a good position under 3 oak trees. Fresh acorns cracked. I have many more pictures during a two week phase. Last week I had two nice bucks come out in the early morning feed. Now the last few days it appears they went nocturnal. I have no day pictures but my camera does have many error pictures which I believe were day pictures but the camera might have malfunctioned. I put a new camera put and will check out this friday before my evening hunt.
I really want to hunt these bad boys hard and need some help. This is my first bow season hunt and I have some good knowledge but there are many opinions on tactics. I will tell you that these are deep woods and no known water source close by. The area where these oak trees are are up on a ridge overlooking a dry creek bed. I ave attached a picture of the surroiundings for an example. These woods are not too thick but remote. One thing to add....... I have not forund any rub lines or scrapes yet. Or I have not been looking good enough. I plan on placing a climber on one of the oaks down wind friday and see what happens....I really doubt I will see these guys during the day but if Ican call them in there is a chance.
What would you guys recommend to do in this situation for calling, position, and times to hunt....Thanks...

I just think that you are hurting your chances in the long run by trying to continually pattern the deer with the cameras...maybe start running your cameras at night and the deer will use the area more during the daylight..

The time stamp on that picture is a pretty good clue (especially if most of the buck pics are at night). That is likely to be a heavy night use area (of course that can change as the rut heats up). Trying to find thick cover that is about a quarter mile from that area would be a good starting point.
If you are going to use cameras to scout the newly found thicket, use them outside of the thicket about a hundred yards away where you think they will travel to and from the thicket. If you get some good pics, put away the cams and scout a stand closer to the thicket, then the work begins.
Good luck!
