hey guys i am looking to buy a rangefinder. i am having a hard time find info for comparisons. i am looking at nikon bushnell leapold and i am open for segestions. i am looking for something that does angles and goes at least 400 yards. the bushnell 1000 arc looks good but it says it only ranges deer 300 yards. i cant find anything on the nikon or leapold as to there range on deer. any info or suggestions are welcomed.

Totally up to you,however don't get too caught up in the range to game/deer distance,they will all usally pick up something else near by and at further distances like a tree.
I currentaly have and older Bushnell 800 and it serves me fine I scan spots with it when getting on stand and make notes.
If I was going to get another one today I would get one with the angle/true range and likely a Leupold as I like the ones I have looked at,however I did hear complaints on there early models not be being good and eating batteries.

i got a Leupold rx600 and i love it, i wouldn't buy into the whole true ballistic range junk you would have to be shooting at some pretty insane angles for it to even matter and at that point i would be wandering how i will be getting off the cliff im hunting on. lol

Do yourself a favor and do NOT purchase one with the angle compensator! I got all "gadget crazy" in thinking I had to have it years ago and once I bought it I discovered I got screwed out of an extra $100 to $75. I have a Bushnell and really like it, but the angle compensator is useless--I never use it. For example: if I am at 7 yards high and range out at 10 yards it says 8 yards, 15 yards it tells me to use 13 yards, at 20 yards it says use 19 yards, at 30 it says 30--so think about it, what really is the difference, not enough to spend the extra money.

I have the Luepold RX 750. It'll hit a deer about 600 yards and will do the angle compensation too. It's not really needed here in TN, but if plan to hunt anywhere else, prob worth getting. I paid $225 for mine at BPS so look for deals. Range Finders have a reflective distance that they will measure, say its shooting a mirror. It also has a "deer-sized" target that is not reflective. Its generally a bit shorter. Also, look for weatherproof, fog proof. Using mine in the field it has been great, no regrets. Go to BPS and play with a few.
