I always think too much. And sometimes it hurts! At my age, I've only got two or three synapses left to work with... ;\)

often times, or maybe at least SOME times, deer are so unpredictable that it's best to go with what you know and not what you think you know....LOL.

That's one advantage of age. I've learned a lot of things "not to do!"

It drives me crazy how I'll do everything right during hunting season (scent, wind, not over hunting stands) with no mature buck sighting and then I'll get mad and hunt a stand with the wrong wind two days in a row and kill a 4.5 year old. However, I believe many of us (including myself) enjoy over analyzing everything because when we finally close the deal on a mature whitetail we feel like we really put in the effort that it took harvest that particular buck. Or maybe we have nothing better to do with our time? I know I spend way too much time on the forum!

I dont know how many brain cell you have in your head but if you had 5, then 4 of them are being used up on deer hunting. I like the way you think! LOL If your not trying to out think them then you better just pray for good luck.

Yeah, pretty amazed no one crashed their ATV or fell in a sinkhole or anything else disasterous!

Too scientific... Maybe. But it's nice getting seemingly educated responses to questions. Aside from that it sounds like he'd be a freakin blast to go four wheeling with!

Oh I don't voluntarily challenge them, but I have learned:

1) Don't park your ATV up against the tracks, no matter how far you think you can see or hear.

And most importantly...

2) Don't jump on your ATV and try to ride out of the way of a train bearing down on you at 60 MPH! They close distance must faster than you think...

LOL. So which goes faster, a train at 60mph bearing down on an ATV, or a bullet falling at 60 mph after rising above a level barrel? Sorry, just finished a different thread....
