You see a huge rack. You have an ethical shot and are sure there is no safety factor involved and it is all legal; there are no other variables.
If it is a "HUGE" rack and you don't shoot, why are you hunting?
If you are trying to determine age, why? He already has a huge rack.
If you are meat hunting, does the body upon which the huge rack is attached not constitute meat?
What variables?

If I see a huge rack I try to make eye contact as much as possible so it doesn't look to obvious.
On a more serious note: I'm shooting. If it's huge I'll take my chances on age. Serious doubts about a huge 2.5 year old where I hunt but if it is I'm still shooting. Probably never see him again if I dont

In some areas that I hunt, a shot can present itself and be gone in a matter of seconds......
If you get a good shot at what you preceive as a huge deer, shoot.
You may never get that chance again......
